You can find this section under Products > Stock Notifications in the IRP Admin left navigation menu.
A stock notification allows customers to request an email alert when an out of stock item comes back into stock.
The main StockNotifications.aspx page appears as follows:
By default, both active and inactive stock is shown and both in-stock and out-of-stock items.
You can see the number of requests that have been submitted and the dates when the most-recent requests were made. You can also see images of the items and other details such as price, option and stock status.
How customers request stock notifications
Customers can choose to receive stock notification emails when the "Out Of Stock Status" is set to "Normal" or "Special Order" status in the IRP.
For a customer to request a Stock Notification, they must click on the Request Stock Alert text as shown below:
They then have to enter their email address:
Finally the customer clicks the Submit button to create the stock alert.
Stock Notifications can be requested only once for a stock item; customers cannot request a Stock Notification for the same Stock ID using the same email address numerous times.
How you know when items are back in stock
When an item comes back into stock you should see it reflected in the Alerts menu in the top nav of IRP Admin:
Note that the Alerts menu is NOT updated when a customer requests a stock notification; it is updated only when an item comes back into stock, alerting you to the fact that stock notification emails are ready to be sent to the customer. When you click the Alerts link you will be directed to the StockNotifications.aspx?ShowInStockOnly=true page where you can view the details of requests, as described in this help topic.
Once Stock Notification Emails have been sent to customers (either automatically via the System Email / Common Task or manually), the requests will be removed from the page.
Emails and vouchers
You can create a specific System Email for Stock Notifications where you can also include vouchers (this can further entice customers to purchase). These emails are sent according to the schedule you have configured for the 'Send Stock Notification Emails' Common Task (this is also run when you click the button called 'Send Stock Notification Emails' at the top of the StockNotifications.aspx page). If you like, you can also email individual customers directly from the Stock Notification Details page – see the How To Respond To Stock Notifications section below in this section.
Default Stock Notifications use the following Small Translations:
These are overridden by whatever you configure in your System Email or individual email on the Stock Notification Details page.
Note: Stock Notifications will be sent out only for Active items coming back into Stock. For a Stock Notification to be sent out for an item that has moved from a Stock Level of <= 0 to a Stock level > 0, it, its Model, its Brand and its Category must ALL be Active.
