Blog Articles

You can find this section under ShopFront Design > Blog Articles in the IRP Admin left navigation menu.

The Blog Articles section makes it easy for you to add valuable, high-ranking content for your visitors and customers to consume.

A list of Blog articles is visible on the front-end https://[your-irp]/Blog.aspx page and selecting a blog article can will redirect to the full article.

Recent blog articles can be accessed in conjunction with the Blog UX component that can easily be placed in Homepage or Content pages within the No-HTML editor.

Users can access a single blog article and find blog articles by clicking the previous/next links against each blog article or by using a scroller displayed under each blog article which contains all other articles:

Blog UX Component

The Blog Drag & Drop UX component is designed to simplify blog content management and improve on-site engagement across both homepage and content pages. The UX component allows teams to easily place a Blog component within page layouts using the standard drag-and-drop interface in the NO-HTML Editor, removing the need for custom development or complex configuration. This makes it significantly faster for merchandising, marketing, and content teams to surface editorial content where it delivers the most value.

A key advantage of the new Blog UX component is its easy configuration setup. Once added to a page, it automatically pulls through and displays the latest published blog articles from Blog Admin, ensuring that content remains fresh and relevant without ongoing manual updates. This default behaviour helps maintain consistency across the storefront while reducing operational overhead for content teams who previously had to manually curate or configure blog feeds.

Blog Articles Admin

The Blog Articles page appears as follows:

Use the search bar at the top of the page to find any blog article and, if you expand 'Other Options', you can use filter by Status and Site Type.

The list of blog articles are ordered by latest Created date and then Display Order. Users can add a new blog or maintain/edit an existing blog using the following functionality:

Edit: Edit the article and main its content
Copy: Create a new copy of the existig blog
Delete: Delete the blog article
Preview: Preview the blog article, which opens the article in a new window

Image and Container Properties	Description
Blog Article ID	IRP assigned ID
Title	Title of the Blog article
Summary	Summary of the blog article dipslayed below the Title
Author	The author of the article, it is not mandatory to enter and is displayed on the full list of blogs and at the bottom of each blog article.
Created	The created date for the blog. User can edit the created date if they wish to change the order of the blogs displayed on the main Blog page or the Blog UX component. Blogs articles that share the same created date are also sorted by Display Order.
Display Order	The display order of the Blog article and is used in conjunction with the Created date to order the articles in the main Blog page and Blog UX component.
Title Image	Description
Upload Image	Select to upload the blog image that is used in the Blog article list, the Blog UX component and in the header of the blog article (if it is enabled to be displayed).
SEO Content	Description
SEO Page Title	The page title for SEO purposes
SEO Page Description	The page description for SEP purposes/td>

How To Add or Edit a Blog Article (DEPRECATED IN V(9.8 RELEASE)

To add or edit a blog article on your site, follow these steps:

Go to Interface & Design > Blog Articles in the IRP Admin left navigation menu.
Click the Add New Blog Article button to add a blog article.
To edit an existing blog article, click the Edit button beside the blog article you wish to change.

Fill in the details on the BlogArticleEdit.aspx page. If you see an asterisk (*) beside a setting it means that the setting is required.

Setting	Description
Blog Article Details
News ID	The unique identifier for the blog article, added automatically by IRP Admin.
Active	This will determine whether the blog article will display on the front end. Active blog articles will appear to customers, inactive articles will not.
Last Updated By	(Visible only if editing.) The name of the IRP Admin User who last updated the blog article, added automatically by IRP Admin.
Display Order	(Visible only if editing.) Set the order of where the blog article will be displayed on the front end. The lower the number the higher up it is displayed. Note: Newly-inserted blog articles on the BlogArticleEdit.aspx page have an automatically assigned display order which is set to the lowest of all existing blog article display orders. All existing blog article display orders are then incremented. This ensures that newly-inserted blog articles always display at the top of the list on the front end.
Language	Set the language that the blog article has been written in.
Display Status	Select where a blog article can display: All Sites - Will display on both the Retail and Trade sites; Retail Sites Only - Will display on the Retail site only; Trade Site Only - Will display on the Trade site only.
Blog Article Content
Headline	The headline for the blog article.
Summary	A summary of the blog article content that appears on the front end.
Content	The HTML content of the blog article. You can also use the following buttons below the text editor: Add Blog Template HTML: Click this button to add a basic HTML template structure for a blog post. You can use this as a framework for new blog articles. Add Product List: Click this button to add a custom product list to the content. For more information, see the Custom Product Lists help topic. Upload Files: Click this button to upload a file from the 'News' directory in the Images Folder.
Header Image
Upload new Header Image	(Visible only if editing.) Upload a header image to appear above the blog article content behind the title.
Current Header Image	(Visible only if editing.) The current header image this is displayed above the blog article behind the title.
AMP Content
Render AMP Version	Select to enable the Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) version of this blog article. When you check this box and update the blog article, customers will be able to access an AMP version of the blog article. When the check box is not checked, if customers attempt to access the AMP version of the blog article they will simply be redirected to the desktop version of the blog article.
Use Standard Content	Select to use the content specified in the Content Editor of the blog article 'Content' section above on the AMP version of this blog article. If you do not check this box then the following setting will be available ('AMP Content').
AMP Content	Enter the HTML content of the AMP version of this blog article.

Once all the details above have been completed, add the blog article by clicking the Insert Blog Article button.
At the top of the page you can see what the blog article looks like on the front end by clicking the Preview Desktop and Preview Mobile buttons.

Other areas to configure

Remember that you can:

Change the default blog header background image by updating the /Images/News/news-archive-header.jpg and /Images/News/mobile-news-archive-header.jpg images.
Change Small Translation ID 3237 to configure the text that overlays the header background image (by default, the value is ‘Blog’).
Configure the number of articles to display on the front-end https://[your-irp]/Blog.aspx page using the News Number Of Articles To Show Application Setting in the 'Blog' grouping (the default value is 12).
Style some blog controls using the CssStylesStandardControls.aspx page – the 'Stylesheet to edit' drop-down list includes a 'Blog Controls' editable stylesheet. For more information, see the Standard Controls Stylesheet help topic.

How To Add a Blog Widget (DEPRECATED IN V9.8 RELEASE)

You can add a Blog widget to any page in the IRP where you can add bespoke HTML e.g. Home Pages, Custom Content Pages, Navigation elements etc.

You add the widget by incorporating the following HTML on the page where you want it to appear:

The class above can be anything you want it to be, but it must match the value inside "$()". For example, if instead of 'blog-widget', you wanted to use 'my-blog-widget', the code would become

This will fill the container div you have specified with the default number of articles, and show the blog article image, title, summary and a 'Read More' link taking you to the full article.

Desktop and Trade: 3 articles
Mobile: 1 article

It is possible to change the number of articles initially on display, hide the article summary and/or hide the 'Read More' Link by modifying the code above.

As you can see in the code above, you can set the value of the initial number of articles to show using the numberOfArticles property value, whether or not to show the summary using the showSummary property value, or hide the Read More link using the showReadMore property value

If there are more than the initial number of articles in the widget, it will automatically have a scrolling ability to access the others
