Brand Campaigns

How Tos (5)

You can find this section under PPC & SEO > Brand Campaigns in the IRP Admin left navigation menu.

Brand campaigns are set up to be focused primarily on the Brands and Products listed on your IRP. Brand campaigns allow you to create a structure that has each Brand represented individually at the Ad Group level.

Each Brand and the Product it includes can have a number of keywords produced in various formats as listed below, depending on what individual Brand settings you have within each Campaign, as well as the separate top-level Brand PPC Settings that have been added:

  • Brand Name
  • Brand Name Category Names
  • Brand Name Model Names
  • Brand Name Custom Keywords
  • Brand Name Part Codes
  • Brand Name EANs
  • Brand Name UPCs

Some of the Brand keyword variations will allow for the selection of one or more keyword match types to be included (Broad, Broad Modifier, Phrase and Exact).

The main overview page will provide a breakdown of all Brand Campaigns you have created within the IRP along with information relating to the number of active, paused, excluded and new Brand Ad Groups within each specific campaign. If IRP sales tracking is implemented and attached to the Campaign, a partner ID will also be displayed.

Each of the Brand Campaign upload files in a format required for the AdWords Editor is generated from this area including:

  • Keyword Upload Files
  • Ad Group Upload Files
  • Negative Keyword Upload Files

How To Guides (5)

Once you have set up or made changes to your ad groups for brands (e.g. new ad groups, status changes) you can upload your changes in the required file format through the Google Adwords Editor. There are two options within the IRP – you can generate the ad groups file(s) for a full campaign(s) or you can specify a selection of Brands for a selection of campaigns.

To generate an ad group file for a full campaign select using the check box to the left hand side of the campaigns. You can now click the ‘Update Ad Groups’ button.

Depending on the number of keywords involved you can select ‘Universal File’ to generate and open the tabbed file ready for upload or you will be presented with a list of links to the files and a count of the number of keywords.

Note: Google’s current limit for keyword uploads is 50,000 at a time through the Google Adwords Editor. This is stored in the IRP Application Settings and can be changed if and when required.

Once you have your ad group file open you can copy and paste into the Google Adwords Editor ready for upload.

This will involve the following:

  1. Open the Adwords Editor and enter your account details.
  2. Go to Data > Ad Groups > Add / Update Multiple Ad Groups
  3. Select ‘My ad group Information includes columns for campaign names’
  4. Paste your ad group settings into the textbox
  5. Click the ‘Process’ button
  6. You will get information on any errors and will be asked to Confirm your changes
  7. Finish by clicking the ‘Post Selected Campaigns’ tab when you are happy with your changes
