Contact Us Questions

You can find this section under Customers > Contact Us Questions in the IRP Admin left navigation menu.

You use this section to create specific Contact Us Questions. This allows you to customise and tailor the fields for input values. For example, if the question is about an order, you should include an Order ID field and set it to ‘required’ so that you can be sure this information will be provided each time this question is answered.

As the questions are fully customisable, you can create various Contact Us Questions for all aspects of your site/business. Example questions could include:

  • Where is my order?
  • Change an order
  • Request product information
  • Voucher/gift code issue
  • Other

The question form appears on the front end at the following URL: www.YourIRP/ContactUs.aspx (desktop) and www.YourIRP/Mobile/MobileContactUs.aspx (mobile).

Note that if you want to edit the content of the ContactUs.aspx page you can use Large Translations IDs 81 and 82 for the desktop site and IDs 115 and 116 for the mobile site.

How To Add or Edit a Contact Us Question

To add or edit a Contact Us Question, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Customers > Contact Us Questions in the IRP Admin left navigation menu.
  2. To add a new Contact Us Question, click the Add New Contact Us button at the top of the page.
    To edit an existing Contact Us Question, click the Edit button at the right side of the Contact Us Question that you want to edit.
  3. Enter or edit the following details. If you see an asterisk (*) beside a setting it means that the setting is required.
    SettingDescription
    Question ID The unique IRP identifier for this Contact Us Question. This is automatically generated when adding a Contact Us Question.
    Active Active questions will be available for selection on the front end of the website. Inactive questions will not be selectable by the customer.
    Subject Text Text to appear in the ‘Subject of your Query’ drop down list for this Question. Click the Translate button to translate the text into any of the languages in your IRP system.
    Email Address The email address that questions will be sent to once they have been submitted. This field can be broken up by language, allowing questions to be sent to a language-specific email address. Click the Translate button to change the language you are editing.
    When you are inserting a question, these are the only options that will be available. Once you have entered the details, click the Insert Contact Us Question button or the Update Contact Us Question button to save them.
  4. The following message will be displayed at this point:
    From here, you can add the necessary Input Fields to the question.
  5. To add an Input Field, click the Add Input Field To Question button. This will open the Add Contact Questions Input Field lightbox.
  6. Enter or edit the following details. If you see an asterisk (*) beside a setting it means that the setting is required. Note: Don’t insert colons (:) after the Field Names as the IRP adds these automatically.

    Field Name Name of the Input Field to be displayed on the ContactUs.aspx page.
    Field Type The Input Field can be either a single line text box, a check box or a multiline text box.
    Field Width (px) Width of the Input Field in pixels.
    Field Height (px) Height of the Input Field in pixels.
    Is Required Whether this field is required for the Contact Us response. Optional Fields will be flagged as such whilst required fields will be used when validating the Response.
  7. After you have entered the details, click the Insert Contact Us Question Input Field button to add the Input Field to the question. Repeat the previous three points for each required Input Field.
  8. You can delete Input Fields by clicking the Delete button at the right side of the Input Field.
  9. To see what the page will look like for customers, click the Preview Question button. You will then see the Contact Us section on the front end of your website.
  10. After you have entered or edited the details, click the Update Contact Us Question button to save the question.
