Custom Settings

You can find this section under PPC & SEO > Custom Settings in the IRP Admin left navigation menu.

The Custom Settings section allows you to add and update several settings related to your Custom Ad Groups. The Custom Ad Groups current status within all Custom campaigns will be displayed.

For each Custom Ad Group the following settings are included:

Setting Description
Ad Group Name This will be the name of your Ad Group for the custom Ad Group. This is the Ad Group name that will be included within all upload files that run through the Adwords Editor. If you change an Ad Group name you must change it both in the IRP campaigns and the Google Adwords account before upload.
PPC Keywords PPC keywords allow for the inclusion of any custom keywords you wish. They may or may not be related to a Brand, Category or Model.

PPC Keywords can also be entered in language variations. This will depend on the current languages you have active on site.
PPC Negatives Negative keywords provide the option for you to include keywords and terms that you do not wish your adverts or banners to display for if they are included in a user’s search term, regardless if some keywords in the search term are held within your Ad Groups.
Headline The PPC Advert Headline allows you to specify a phrase that can be included in your text adverts if you so wish. There are many variations available through the PPC Text Ads section. As there could be the possibility of generating multiple variations of ads for many brands you may wish to have a standard headline phrase that can be included. For custom Ad Groups it is recommended you include these as there will be no default Brand, Category or Product information that can be included when creating text adverts.
Description The PPC Advert Description allows you to specify a phrase that can be included in your text adverts if you so wish. There are many variations available through the PPC Text Ads section. As there could be the possibility of generating multiple variations of ads for many brands you may wish to have a standard description phrase that can be included in either description line 1 or description line 2. For custom Ad Groups it is recommended you include these as there will be no default Brand, Category or Product information that can be included when creating text adverts.
Destination URL For custom Ad Groups you will need to include a destination url as there will be no default Brand, Category or Product url that can be included when creating text adverts. If this is not included the url for the text advert will be the website homepage.

At the top of the Custom Settings section there are options that allow you to filter which custom Ad Groups are displayed below. You can carry out a search or you can filter using the two options listed:

  • Is Active in a PPC Campaign
  • Is Inactive in a PPC Campaign

This allows you to carry out investigation as to which Custom Ad Groups are currently active / inactive within a Campaign.
