You can find this section under Application Settings in the IRP Admin left navigation menu.
IRP Shopper’s ability to calculate and display precise delivery dates directly in the models/product page, basket, and throughout checkout, removes one of the biggest friction points in ecommerce: uncertainty.
With Estimated Deliver Dates (EDDs) IRP Shopper now presents a clear, message “Delivery Date: Tomorrow, Thursday 12th”, which creates urgency and reinforces reliability. This combination of urgency and trust is a proven driver of conversion uplift.
EDDs brings consistency throughout the entire customer journey - from the models page, basket page, through checkout, order confirmation page, confirmation email and in the My Account Order area. This end-to-end visibility reinforces trust at every touchpoint, not just at the point of purchase.
How is the calculation made? Each shipping rule will have a setting for delivery days min and max. When a shipping method is selected IRP goes through the model page item or basket getting the estimated delivery date for each item using the delivery days values as a starting point and factoring in item stock levels, the time of day and whether the delivery method can deliver on Saturday and/or Sunday. IRP takes the latest dates from all the items in the basket and that becomes the estimated delivery date for that basket.
The 'Estimated Delivery' component is displayed in the following locations in the IRP Shopper flow...
- Models/Product: The cheapest delivery range (and price) is displayed, if there are other faster delivery options available then the fastest option (plus its price) is also displayed as an alternative.
- Basket: In the Order pricing section, the estimated delivery date range is displayed below the selected Shipping Method. Selecting a different shipping method will return the estimated delivery date rate for that method.
- Checkout: The selected Shipping Method will display the estimated delivery day below it in the Order Summary panel.
- Confirmation: Estimated delivery is clearly displayed. Any enabled dispatch messaging is not shown
- Confirmation Email: Estimated delivery is clearly displayed.
- My Account > Order: Estimated delivery is clearly displayed for the selected order.
Application Settings Configuration
Estimated Delivery Dates has an overall setting to enable EDD through the Shopping flows. You can find this option under Application Settings > General Settings
- Enable Estimated Delivery Date: Select to enable EDD through the shopping flows. Enabling EDD overrides Dispatch Date functionality that may also be enabled and is no longer shown in the models page or the shopping flows.
Shipping Rules Settings
Each shipping rule can have a Min and Max Delivery Date range set as well as weekend delivery dates. If the dates are both set to '1' day then this will indicate that this is the same date. This is useful for next day or 'Tomorrow' delivery indication.
- Min. Delivery Days: The lowest number of days to delivery
- Max. Delivery Days: The maximum number of days to delivery
- Can Deliver On Saturday: Can deliver on a Saturday
- Can Deliver On Sunday: Can deliver on a Sunday
