Homepage Manager

You can find this section under ShopFront Design > Home Page Manager in the IRP Admin left navigation menu.

IRP's international support sets it apart from other eCommerce Platforms. Merchants can sell to any country in the world in seconds. It's easy to customise a country storefront with our prebuilt templates and No-HTML page editor.

Home Pages are a critical element of an IRP and they are often one of the first page that a potential customer will see. Merchants can manage their global homepage content to maximise the selling opportunity in each country either by displaying country level best selling products or designing more specific homepage content to appeal to shoppers in each country.

The following types of Home Page Content are available within the IRP for Desktop, Mobile and B2B Trade channels:

  • AI Generated: This type of Home Page displays a list of products based Best Sellers.
  • User Generated: This type of Home Page displays content that has been generated by the user and usually includes a mixture of HTML, product scrollers and 3rd party content.

The Home Page Manager screen includes the full list of supported IRP countries plus the Home Page Content assigned to each channel (Desktop, Mobile and Trade), for each country.

By default all countries are assigned AI Generated content, but the merchant can easily create User Generated Home Page Content and apply this at the correct channel and country level.

Home Page Manager

The Home Page Manager area includes three functions: Access to Home Page Content and Application Settings, Filters and a Countries List and the abilty to select home page content.

'Cog Wheel' Application Settings

If you click the 'cog wheel' icon, you will be redirected to the Home Page Application Settings page where you can configure the following settings:

  • Best Seller Homepages - Model Min Price: This is the minimum price that a model has to be in order to be included in the Auto Generated Home Pages. Note that this price takes the website's default currency into consideration and any foreign prices will be calculated from the exchange rate for the default currency.
  • Discount Displayed Horizontally: Determines whether Discount / Saving text on Product based Homepages (like System Generated Best Sellers or Custom Product Lists) is displayed vertically or horizontally.
  • Enable Brands Scrollers: If enabled, a Brands scroller will appear on the website's Home Page.
  • Enable Recommendations Scroller: If enabled, a 'Recommendations' scroller will appear on the website's Home Page.
  • Force BeeFree Content to Full Width: BeeFree Content has a maximum width of 1440px however, if set to true, this will force the BeeFree Homepage Content to stretch the full width of the screen. Please note, this setting is only applicable when your website is set to be a full width site in css, otherwise, the content will only be scalable to .main-content .center-cell in your Homepage's css markup.

Note that if you make any changes to these settings, you should uncache your system in order to see the changes reflected on your website.

Home Page Content

The default home page content is AI generated, but users can created their own ‘User Generated Content’ to meet the business and customer requirements for specific countries or groups of countries. User Generated Content can be created directly within a HTML editor and can be a mixture of all the elements and 3rd party content that businesses may need to create.

Home Page Content is created first and then assigned to countries. Navigating to ‘Home Page Content’ displays a list of content and the site type and countries that content is assigned to.

Select Homepages

Each country row in the Homepage Manager has option to 'Select Homepages'. This allows the Merchant to view and target homepages for the selected country directly within the Homepage Manager. Targeting for multiple countries is managed at a wider level in the 'Homepage Library & Targeting' page.

Merchants can view if the currently selected content is user generated or AI generated. They can select to change the homepage assigned for each channel from a list of user generated or AI generated pages. User and AI generated pages are indicated above the homepage image.

When a selection has been changed the user must 'Save the Selection' and Uncache the application to view the change on the live site.

How do I get a language-specific message to appear on a country-specific home page?
You can do this using the Languages section of IRP Admin by editing the ‘Welcome Message’ setting. This will appear in the top-centre of your home page.
Where do I update the SEO description and title of my home page?

You configure the default SEO (Title, Description and Keywords) for your home page by using the 'Home Page SEO' section as described above (and by using Small Translations, for example IDs 617 and 618). However if you have defined one particular Department as your default Department (see below for instructions), the SEO that you have configured for your Department pages (on the SEO tab of the CategoriesEdit.aspx page and in the Overrides section of the Home Page SEO tab) will replace the SEO in your Small Translations.

You can define a Department (and a Category) as the default one as follows:

  1. Go to Products > Categories in the IRP Admin left navigation menu. This takes you to the Categories.aspx page.
  2. Click the Other Actions button at the top of the screen.
  3. Select a Default Department and a Default Category using the drop-down lists.
  4. Click the Update Default Department And Category button.
  5. Now when a customer first lands on your website they will see the Department that you have set as default. Also the Product Options Bar (just below the top navigation tabs) will show the Category that you have set as the default. In addition, as the customer clicks the Departments in your top or left navigation, the title bar on their web browser will change to show the Department-specific SEO that you have configured on the CategoriesEdit.aspx page. Likewise, search engine results will display your Department-specific SEO Descriptions below the URLs of your pages.
