Import Stock Attributes

How Tos (1)

You can find this section under Data Imports/Exports > Import Stock Attributes in the IRP Admin left navigation menu.

NOTE: The import process for products, stock attributes, customers, & mailing lists is largely the same; only the columns change. Therefore, you should reference the Import Products video.

You use this section to import stock attributes in bulk to the IRP. This is a useful feature in IRP as it allows you to import large numbers of stock attributes effortlessly. All you need to do is complete a template file and then upload it to the IRP.

Note that some details are required — these are shown as unselectable, greyed-out columns.

When you have completed the straightforward process of configuring the template, you can stage and upload the data with the click of a button.

The DataImportStockAttributes.aspx page appears as follows (note that this shows a staged data file and your screen will look different if you have not yet uploaded a data file):

Import Stock Attributes

As shown in the screen capture above, there are two tabs:

  • Import Stock Attributes: You use this tab to upload your completed stock attributes file, stage the data and then import it to the IRP.
  • Create Template File: You use this tab to set up and download a template file for importing the stock attributes.

For more details, refer to the How To Import Stock Attributes article in this section.

FAQs (1)

How can I export all products that are missing attributes?
You can do this as follows:
  1. Go to Data Imports / Exports > Import Stock Attributes in the IRP Admin left navigation menu.
  2. Select the Create Template File tab.
  3. Under the Download Custom Template File subsection, click the Filter Selection checkbox.
  4. You will see several options for filtering the resultant dataset and then you will be given the chance to select only the columns that you want to see.

For larger datasets, it is recommended that you download the file in flat-file format (i.e. CSV, TSV or Pipe Delimited) as Microsoft Excel can sometimes create bulkier files.
