Overview (Products)

You can find this section under Products > Overview in the IRP Admin left navigation menu.

The ProductsHome.aspx page presents you with a summary of product information:

IRP Admin image

The information is grouped into the following sections:

  • General Info
This shows the total numbers of active models, stock, brands and product categories. This is useful for you to know because:
    • Knowing how many active products you have gives you an insight into the state of your inventory; you would need to examine the reason for products being inactive.
    • Having large numbers of inactive products may indicate that you need to look at your stock control or to re-examine your best-selling versus worst-selling products, and so forth.
  • Other Info
This shows several summary statistics including the average number of models per category, average models per brand, average image count per model, total number of models with price match and the number of categories with a size chart. This is useful for you to know because:
    • Knowing the average numbers of models per brand and category gives you an insight into how extensive your inventory is and may be a factor involved in how popular your website is.
    • Having more than one image per model available to customers is likely to increase their confidence that they are buying the correct product from you.
    • Allowing some price match requests may help you to attract new customers or retain existing customers as it encourages them to buy from you despite having seen cheaper products on another website.
    • Having size charts (at a brand and category level) available to your customers may increase their confidence that they are buying the correct product from you.
  • Missing Values
This shows the numbers of missing values for various elements, including product images, logos, descriptions, part codes, EANs and attributes. This is useful for you to know because:
    • It is important not to leave these values missing: they are critical in feeds such as Google Shopping. You need to provide this information, with high quality, otherwise products can (and will) be disallowed from various sales channels.
    • The more missing values that you have on your website, the more that you risk deterring customers from buying from you as they are under-informed about your products.
    • The more missing values that you have on your website, the more it may begin to look incomplete or unprofessional.
  • Active Models with/without Large Images
This is a pie chart showing the proportion of currently-active models on your website that do have large images or that do not have large images. This is useful for you to know because:
    • Having large pop-up images and zoom images (in addition to small images) of a product available to customers is likely to increase their confidence that they are buying the correct product from you.
    • This also contributes to making your website looking complete and professional.
  • Active Models with/without Descriptions
This is a pie chart showing the proportion of currently-active models on your website that have descriptions or that have no descriptions. This is useful for you to know because:
    • The more missing descriptions that you have on your website, the more that you risk deterring customers from buying from you as they don’t have a full description of an item to read.
    • The more missing descriptions that you have on your website, the more it may begin to look incomplete or unprofessional.
    • Having descriptions, especially detailed descriptions, of a product available to customers is likely to increase their confidence that they are buying the correct product from you.
  • Active Models with/without Images
This is a pie chart showing the proportion of currently-active models on your website that have no images, one image, or more than one image. This is useful for you to know because:
    • The more missing images that you have on your website, the more that you risk deterring customers from buying from you as they don’t know what an item looks like.
    • The more missing images that you have on your website, the more it may begin to look incomplete or unprofessional.
    • Having more than one view (and colour) of a product available to customers is likely to increase their confidence that they are buying the correct product from you.
