Scripts

You can find this section under PPC & SEO > Scripts in the IRP Admin left navigation menu.

You use this section to add more than one Google Conversion Tracking Script to the IRP (the Order Confirmation Page after a customer has completed checking out). Multiple conversion tracking scripts are required when you have more than one Google AdWords account set up and active.

If you are using only one AdWords account then you will need to complete only the Google Conversion Tracking Application Settings.

However, if you want to take advantage of the Scripts section and plan to work with multiple Google AdWords accounts, then you need to add all conversion scripts to the Scripts section and not just those that are additional. This will override the default Application Settings.

The main GoogleConversionScripts.aspx page appears as follows:

This shows summary details of the Google conversion scripts in the system. For more information, see How To Add a Google Conversion Tracking Script.

How To Add a Google Conversion Tracking Script

You will first need to set up Conversion Tracking within each of your Google AdWords accounts. You can obtain information and help advice from the AdWords Help Center:

To add a Google Conversion Tracking Script, follow these steps:

  1. Go to PPC & SEO > Scripts in the IRP Admin left navigation menu.
  2. To create a new Script, click the Add New Script button at the top of the page.
To edit an existing Script, click the Edit button at the right side of the Script that you want to edit.
  3. First view the code of the Script in AdWords as explained in the links above.
  4. If you are ready to make the Script Active (so that the Script is rendered on the site when an order is completed), check this box.
  5. Check the Use Gtag box if this script is to be rendered on the site when an order is completed.
  6. Enter the Background Colour value (conversion color in the code). In general, we do not show the Google conversion tracking indicator. If this is what you will be doing, leave this as FFF, otherwise, style it as you wish.
  7. Enter the Format. In general, we do not show the Google conversion tracking indicator. If this is what you will be doing, leave this as 3, otherwise, use the value as indicated by the code generated by Google.
  8. Enter the Tracking ID. When Google generates the code for you, there will be a line such as var google_conversion_id = 123456789;. You want to enter the value 123456789 in this field.
  9. Enter the Tracking Label. When Google generates the code for you, there will be a line such as var google_conversion_label = "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA";. You want to enter the value AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA in this field, without the quotes.
  10. When you have entered or edited the details, click the Insert Script button or the Update Script button.
  11. Ensure that the Application Setting Enable Google Adwords Conversion Tracking is enabled.
