IRP Bring Philip Macartney In As New CCO

The latest commercial appointment signals a new era for the IRP Commerce Cloud
11 September 2020

IRP are excited to announce the appointment of Philip Macartney as the new Chief Commercial Officer of the company.

The CCO role takes on the responsibility of growing and maintaining IRP Commerce Cloud customers and partners. Philip’s background of sales, marketing and partnership roles have prepared him well for this task and he is excited to be taking on a role back in Northern Ireland for the first time in 20 years.

“I am very lucky to have been given the opportunity to take on this role with IRP,” said Philip in his first week in the role. “I have been very fortunate in my career to work with some great people and innovative companies. I have always been drawn to the brave and bold, whether it be Bebo, Saxo Bank, Affinio or iCabbi, I have always liked to work with companies that broke the mould and dared to be different and that is why I was instantly attracted to IRP and its proposition.”

While the IRP’s unique position as the Platform for Profit was the initial draw for Philip, the real draw was what our customers said about us:

“Dan and the senior team here have been great but what really swung it for me was a video testimonial from one of the clients. If you look up the video from Ann’s Cottage on our YouTube channel, you will see one of the best testimonials I have seen in a long while. Luke, the ecommerce manager there, clearly shows why the IRP has won so many awards and attracted so many great clients. He passionately articulated to me how IRP has changed his business and how he knew what he wanted to take his business forward and found it in IRP. I am a customer-focussed person, and when you see a customer give a testimonial like that, you know there is something special there.”

Dan Loughlin the CEO commented, “We are delighted that Philip has joined us. He brings fantastic skills back to Northern Ireland and we believe it is a meeting of a strong Northern Irish technology product in the IRP Commerce Cloud and a commercial lead with the relevant international experience. This appointment will benefit all of our customers and partners as a new era in IRP Commerce begins.”

Philip has recently moved back to Northern Ireland following spells in Dublin, London and Copenhagen and admits there is something special about working for a Northern Irish business again:

“The digital and technology scene in Belfast is really alive here, even in the face of this pandemic. I am so excited to be working with Northern Irish partners and firms again and to be taking a really successful Belfast business on to the next level.”
