Product Manager

Established in 2005, IRP Commerce is one of the leading technology companies in Northern Ireland and one of the UK’s foremost ecommerce platform providers. The company has won the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 award multiple times.
The company’s platform and approach has allowed mid-market businesses based in the UK and Ireland to transact more than £1 billion GBP and has powered the largest sites in a number of markets. Clients include retail, manufacturing and distribution businesses in both the B2C and B2B sectors.
The company has had a heavy R&D focus producing some of the most exciting software in the ecommerce industry. It has also had good commercial traction and is committed to expanding its commercial reach across the UK, Ireland and beyond.
The company’s commercial model involves supporting multiple specialist ecommerce agencies whilst also building strong relationships with direct customers and technical partners.
To help the company achieve their goals, the company is now seeking an experienced and highly-motivated Product Manager.
This role represents a huge opportunity for a talented commercial individual to play a key part in the development of one of Northern Ireland’s leading technology companies.
Key Responsibilities
Due to the nature of a scaling business, the role will have a wide scope. This will be augmented over time by additional resources chosen by the PM and CEO within the department for the various departmental roles as the company grows. The successful candidate will be expected to fulfil or oversee the following functions:
(a) Product Direction and Road Map:
- Play a key role in the product Road Map
- Ensure that different competing interests are satisfied
- Ensure that open and clear communication about the product is managed within the ecosystem
- Ensure that the interests of the various parties are met and that clear communication and explanations are given to interested parties in a timely fashion
- Manage all basic product communication channels, inbound and outbound
(b) Training:
- Manage the entire IRP Training framework and programme
- Ensure that the Beta and Training versions of the IRP are used by interested parties
- Oversee the IRP accreditation programme
- Organise the hands-on and remote Training programmes for all of the interested parties
(c) Support:
- Assume ownership and control of IRP 3rd Line Support
- Oversee the IRP Knowledge Base
- Oversee the Support infrastructure
- Analyse and generate actions based on quarterly Support data
(d) IRP Ecosystem:
- Oversee the entire administration of the IRP ecosystem
- Assume responsibility for maximising engagement with the ecosystem
- Ensure that key SOPs are carried out by all parties
- Strategically engage with 3rd party suppliers and relationships
- Co-ordination between IRP Commerce and various IRP stakeholders: Agencies, Service Providers, Technical Partners and IRP World members
(e) UX Input:
- Provide direct input into the UX of the IRP product
- Assist with making the IRP a very simple-to-use product
- Harness feedback on customer sentiment regarding usability
(f) Strategic Assistance to Sales:
- Offer strategic assistance to IRP Sales, as required,
- Participate in the technical side of the Sales process, as required
- Provide input into Sales collateral
(g) Play a Key Leadership Role:
- Assist with the leadership and management of the company
(h) Other:
- Assist in other areas as may be required by the company
Person Specification
Essential Experience & Skills:
The candidate must have:
- Degree-level education
- Demonstrable previous experience as a Product Manager in a software or technology company
- Exceptional communication skills
- Demonstrable and exceptional skills in the following areas:
- Interpersonal relations
- Influencing skills
- Problem solving and decision making, including ability to make ‘tough’ decisions
- Excellent technical skills, preferably in ecommerce
- Strong understanding of the ecommerce market
- Both a team player and a leader
- Project and time management
Desirable Skills:
It will be beneficial that the candidate has a strong knowledge and experience of:
- International selling, particularly at the mid-market level and beyond
- Digital marketing and consulting
