Parcel Types

You can find this section under Shipping > Parcel Types in the IRP Admin left navigation menu.

You use this screen to define any set parcel dimensions that you routinely use. For example some businesses might often use generic ‘small’, ‘medium’ and ‘large’ boxes to ship their orders. Once you have defined your parcel types, you can select them for use when you are dispatching orders.

The main ParcelTypes.aspx page appears as follows:

As shown in the example screenshot, the main grid displays the ID, name, weight, width, length and height of all the Parcel Types in the system. Weights are entered in grams and the dimensions are measured in centimetres.

How To Add or Edit Parcel Types

To add or edit a Parcel Type, follow these steps:

Go to Shipping > Parcel Types in the IRP Admin left navigation menu.

Click the Add New Parcel Type button at the top of the screen.
The Add New Parcel Type screen appears. Fill in the fields as follows:

Setting	Description
Parcel Type ID	This is the unique ID for this parcel. This is added automatically by IRP Admin.
Type Name	Enter a name to differentiate this Parcel Type from others held on your IRP.
Weight (g)	Enter the weight, in grams, of this (empty) Parcel Type (you can use decimal values). For example, this should be the weight of the empty box or letter. The IRP will automatically add this weight to the weight of the order items to calculate a total indicative parcel weight for review in the auto-dispatch section.
Width (cm)	Enter the width, in centimetres, of this Parcel Type (you can use decimal values).
Length (cm)	Enter the length, in centimetres, of this Parcel Type (you can use decimal values).
Height (cm)	Enter the height, in centimetres, of this Parcel Type (you can use decimal values).
Intersoft Royal Mail Service Format	Select from the following formats: None Set Inland Letter Inland Large Letter Inland Parcel International Letter International Flat International Parcel Inland Format Not Applicable International Format Not Applicable International Printed Papers If this is left at 'None Set', the Default Service Format as defined for the Intersoft Shipping Method will apply. It is therefore recommended that you use this setting to ensure that you do not pay for a larger Service Format than you require.

Click the Insert Parcel Type button to save the details.
