Basket Content Templates

You can find this section under Email Marketing > Basket Content Templates in the IRP Admin left navigation menu.

With this functionality you can customise the display of basket contents in emails by providing a template in HTML that specifies where the basket items begin and end. You can then use the Basket Content Template in a Dropped Basket Email Campaign. The functionality in this section uses a similar format to Custom Product List Templates and Order Sheet Templates.

The main BasketContentTemplates.aspx page appears as follows:

The page shows the following details:

  1. Go to Email Marketing > Basket Content Templates in the IRP Admin left navigation menu.
  2. To edit an existing Basket Content Template, click the Edit button at the right side of the row belonging to the Basket Content Template that you want to edit.
Note: You will see a default Basket Content Template on the BasketContentTemplates.aspx page which contains many of the most-used placeholders, therefore if you like, you can simply click the Copy button and tweak the design as desired.
  3. To add a new Basket Content Template, click the Add New Basket Content Template button at the top of the screen.
  4. Complete the information below:
    SettingDescription
    Template Details
Template ID The unique ID of the Basket Content Template in the IRP. This is added automatically.
Active Active templates will be available in areas of the system such as email content; inactive templates will not.
Template Name Enter the name that will be used to identify this Basket Content Template within IRP Admin.
    HTML Body Content
HTML Add the HTML content of this Basket Content Template. Note the following:
    1. You do not need to add inline CSS here as you use the section below called 'CSS' to add CSS styling.
    2. Use the drop-down list of languages to translate the content into any active language in your system.
    3. Click the Upload Files button to include any content you have saved elsewhere.
    4. You can also add any of the following placeholders to your HTML to specify the position of certain data:
<!-- BEGIN BASKET ITEM ROW -->
<!-- END BASKET ITEM ROW -->
      $$BasketItemProductName$$
      $$BasketItemImage$$
      $$BasketItemStatus$$
      $$BasketItemQuantity$$
      $$BasketItemUnitPrice$$
      $$BasketItemSaving$$
      $$BasketItemSubTotal$$
      $$BasketContentsSubTotal$$
      $$BasketContentsTotalSaving$$
If you look at look at the default template you will see that individual rows for basket items must be contained within the <!-- BEGIN BASKET ITEM ROW --> and <!-- END BASKET ITEM ROW --> placeholders and that within each row you should include appropriate placeholders such as $$BasketContentsSubTotal$$, $$BasketContentsTotalSaving$$ and so forth.
    5. It is highly recommended that you save and preview your configuration as you go along and definitely before you make it active.
    CSS Styles
CSS Add the CSS classes referenced in the HTML above.
  5. To save your configuration, click the Insert Basket Content Template button or the Update Basket Content Template button.
  6. Remember that the template must be Active before it can be used. Also make sure that you preview it before making it active and if necessary, change your HTML and/or CSS.

Note: To use the Basket Content Template in a Dropped Basket Email Campaign, see the Marketing Campaigns help topic.
