Price Lists

You can find this section under Trade Site > Price Lists in the IRP left navigation menu.

You use this section to configure customised price lists for different groups of trade customers. There is a default Price List in the default currency of your website, however you can also configure custom Price Lists if you want to.

For example, you can define a price list for a specific country and currency and you can either pick the exact products that you want to include in the price list or you can choose to discount the prices from an existing price list.

This is an extremely useful feature of the IRP B2B functionality as it allows you to specifically target any number of individual trade customers with tailored, precision pricing strategies.

TradePriceLists.aspx page

The main TradePriceLists.aspx page appears as follows:

IRP Trade Price Lists page

You can use the search bar at the top of the page to search for the name of any Trade Price List in the system. The main grid shows the following details of each Trade Price List:

  • ID: This is the unique IRP identifier for the Trade Price List, used throughout IRP Admin. Each country has a price list assigned, initially the default one. You can change this against country. You can have as many full Price Lists as you like.
  • Name: This is the name of the Trade Price List.
  • Currency: This is the Currency of the Trade Price List, for example SEK (Swedish Krona).
  • Country: This is the Country that the Trade Price List applies to, for example Sweden.
  • Type: This can be either ‘Full Price List’ (used to define specific Products and their Trade Prices) or ‘Discount From Parent List’, (used to specify a discount from the prices on another Trade Price List).
  • Parent List: For Price Lists with a ‘Type’ of ‘Discount From Parent List’, this is the name of the Parent List from which the prices on the current list are discounted.
  • Discount From Parent: For Price Lists with a ‘Type’ of ‘Discount From Parent List’, this is the percentage discount defined from the Parent List.
  • Approved Customers: This is the number of Customers that are approved to use the pricing defined within the Price List.
  • Prices: This is the total number of prices that are included in the Price List.
  • Copy: Click this button to copy a Trade Price List. This is useful if you need to create several price lists that are very similar other than, for example, the Currency and Country and so forth. For details, see the How To Copy or Delete a Trade Price List article in this section.
  • Edit: Click this button to edit a Trade Price List. For details, see the How To Add or Edit a Trade Price List article in this section.

At the top of the page you can click the View Price List Download History button. This takes you to the TradePriceListDownloadHistory.aspx page. For more information, see Trade Price List Download History.

Note that you can use the 'Trade Active' setting check box within the 'Advanced Size / Colour Information' section of the StockEdit.aspx window to define whether or not an item will appear on the Trade version of the website as long as there is a price available for the logged-in customer, i.e. in the Default Price List or their specific assigned Price List. See the Models help topic for more information.

Trade Price Lists are straightforward to set up on the IRP. For details, see the How To Add or Edit a Trade Price List article in this section.

How To Add or Edit a Trade Price List

To add or edit a Trade Price List, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Trade Site > Price Lists in the IRP Admin left navigation menu.
  2. To add a new Price List, click the Add New Price List button at the top of the screen.
  3. To edit an existing Price List, click the Edit button to the right of the Price List that you want to edit. The TradePriceListEdit.aspx screen appears.
  4. Fill in the following details on the Price List Information tab (NOTE: For a ‘Full Price List’, follow the order of steps described below; for a ‘Discount From Parent List’, first enter the Name, followed by the List Type, then proceed with the other settings):
    SettingDescription
Price List ID This is a unique IRP identifier for the Trade Price List, added automatically by IRP Admin.
Name Enter a name for the Trade Price List.
Country Select the Country that the Trade Price List applies to from the drop-down list. (Note that this field will be auto-populated if you have selected a ‘Type’ of ‘Discount From Parent List’ for the Trade Price List.)
Currency Select the Currency of the Trade Price List from the drop-down list. (Note that this field will be auto-populated if you have selected a ‘Type’ of ‘Discount From Parent List’ for the Trade Price List.)
List Type Select the type of the Trade Price List from the drop-down list. This can be either ‘Full Price List’ which you use to define specific Products and their Trade Prices or ‘Discount From Parent List’, which you use to specify a discount from the prices on another Trade Price List.
Parent List (This setting appears only if you have selected a ‘Type’ of ‘Discount From Parent List’.) Select the Parent List from the drop-down list from which you want to discount prices in the current Price List.
Discount From Parent List (%) (This setting appears only if you have selected a ‘Type’ of ‘Discount From Parent List’.) Enter the percentage discount that you want to offer from the Parent Trade Price List.
Exclude From Promotions This allows you to mark an entire Price List as excluded from Trade Promotions. Note that there is also a 'Trade Site Exclude Default Price List From Promotions' Application Setting which functions in a similar fashion to the 'Exclude From Promotions' flag against a Trade Price List except that it is solely used for the Default Trade Price List which is always available.
  5. Click the Insert New Price List button or the Update Price List button. If successful, you should see a message at the top of the screen:
IRP Trade Price Lists successful message

You can now move on to view and configure other elements of the Trade Price List such as Prices, Bulk Operations and Product Restrictions, as follows:

  1. Click the Prices tab.
  2. You can use the search bar at the top of the screen to search for a price in the main grid. If you expand Other Options under the search bar you can choose to return search results only for products that have a price and only for prices that are active as trade prices. The search results will be listed in the main grid showing the Code number, an image of the product, the Brand, the Model and the Price Type (RRP or Price). You can also use the 'Exclude From Promotions' drop-down list to include or exclude specific Trade Price List Prices from Trade Promotions using 'Yes' and 'No' options, or you can make them adhere to the 'Exclude From Promotions' setting against the Trade Price List using the 'Inherit' option.
  3. You can change the Discount Type and the Price on this tab. If you make any changes, be sure to click the Update Price List button to save your changes.
  4. You can also configure Quantity Breaks using this tab. Quantity Breaks allow you to offer a discounted price for volume purchasing. To use this feature, click the Add Quantity Break button.
Quantity Discount / Trade Promotion Interaction:
You can apply Trade Promotions to products available on the Trade Site with defined Quantity Discounts. Promotional pricing will be applied to the highest Quantity Discount price (the 'original' item price). In the case that the discount earned from a Quantity Discount break becomes greater than the promotional discount, the Quantity Discount break will be used instead.
Trade Promotions marked as 'Discount Taken Off RRP' will apply promotional pricing to the RRP value of a Quantity-Discountable item. In the case that the discount earned from a Quantity Discount break becomes greater than the promotional discount from the RRP, the Quantity Discount break will be used instead.
  5. You will see additional information appear for the Model and Option associated with the prices and also ‘Qty’ and ‘Discount’ boxes for you to configure the Quantity Break. Enter appropriate values in these fields and click the Update Price List button to save your changes.
  6. Click the Bulk Operations tab. If you have more than one Price List defined in the system, you can choose to:
    • Set All Prices to Web Price Discounted By a percentage value that you can enter, then click the Update button.
    • Reassign Customers to another Price List To do this, select the Price List from the drop-down list and click the Reassign button:
IRP Trade Price Lists Reassign Customers screen
    • Make this the default list for new customers from a specific country To do this, select the country from the drop-down list and click the Assign button.
  7. Click the Product Restrictions tab. Here you can define specific products that you want to exclude from a Trade Price List.
  8. Click the Add New Product Restrictions button.
The Add New Trade Price List Product Restriction window appears (TradePriceListProductRestrictionAdd.aspx). Product Restrictions require at least a Brand or a Category to be valid. Accordingly, use the drop-down lists to select the Brand and/or the Category that should be restricted for this Trade Price List.
  9. Click the Add New Product Restriction button. If successful, you will see a message at the top of the window and you can close the window. The Product Restriction will then appear on the Product Restrictions tab. Subsequently, you can use this screen to delete any Product Restrictions, if necessary, and to add further Product Restrictions.
