Ecommerce Data Commentary: November 2025 +15.40% YOY

Overall Performance

eCommerce sales on the IRP platform saw a 15.40% year-over-year (YOY) increase in November 2025 and continued to outperform the wider market. According to the BRC retail overall sales grew +1.4% in November and +0.5% for non-food online sales. IRP's focus on profit - growth with controlled traffic cost - is putting merchants on the IRP in a strong position.

Noteworthy sector growth includes:

  • Sports & Recreation: +48.65%
  • Baby & Child: +47.75%

Strong conversion rates were observed in:

  • Cars and Motorcycling: 26.81%
  • Pet Care: 22.53%
  • Fashion Clothing & Accessories: 21.67%

Economic Influences

November sales trends on IRP outpaced those of the wider UK economy with +15.40% YOY growth v +0.5% for UK non-food retail (reported by the BRC) and +1.4% YOY for UK retail in general.

  • Consumer Caution: Customers are tightening their spend in the run up to Christmas.
  • Macroeconomic Pressures:Challenges remain with inflation and business confidence remains low.

Key Challenges for 2026:

  • Ongoing cost pressures on SME’s continues to dampen business investment, employment and growth.
  • We're beginning to see the impact of US tariffs and the reduction of sales to the US.
  • Merchants are having to look to domestic and other international markets.

Cost and Conversion Trends

  • Cost of Sales (COS): CPA% (percentage spent on marketing channels) reached 7.15%, marking a -7.02% YOY reduction. The CPA% reflects Merchants and Agency tight control on traffic costs.
  • Conversion Rates: November 2025 rose YOY from 2.04% to 2.11% (+3.43%), highlighting increased price sensitivity and merchant reliance on IRP technology to control costs.

Positive Metrics

Despite market tightening, there are bright spots:

  • Average Order Value (AOV): £124.84, +3.43% YOY.
  • Average Sale Price per Item: -2.32% YOY.
  • Mobile Channel Sales Share: 68.20%.
  • International Sales: 40.50%
