EPOS Till Features

The IRP EPOS includes a comprehensive set of features that allow the till user to do their job easily and professionally. The IRP EPOS is part of the secure IRP cloud that you access from your web browser. It is a fully real-time application.

EPOS Till System Requirements

The essential requirements for the EPOS till are as follows:

IMPORTANT: It is possible that the EPOS will function correctly with hardware and software that differs from that described above – however, as it is not possible for IRP Commerce to test every possible configuration, it is very strongly recommended that you adhere to the specifications described above. IRP Commerce cannot guarantee that the system will function correctly if you do not use the hardware and software described. If you proceed with using systems other than those described above, you are accepting the responsibility for — and risk associated with — using non-recommended systems.

Can the EPOS be used in ‘safe mode’ for use when training staff?
Currently there is no safe mode built into the EPOS functionality. For training purposes users could place an order, then follow that with an ‘opposite’ order (i.e. refund the order just placed) to cancel out the initial order.

Can I print labels from the EPOS system?
Labels are not printed as part of the EPOS functionality (although you can print Receipts). You can print Labels from within Stock Control (see Label Printing). These labels produce a barcode from the stock ID padded out with zeroes to 13 digits. The stock ID itself is also printed on the label.

How is an in-store item looked up at the till?
The EPOS functionality searches by EAN barcode/partcode and, if this doesn’t find anything, then a general search is carried out by stock ID, names, etc. Therefore either the barcode that is on the product or the IRP stock label bar code can be scanned using a regular barcode scanner and the resulting product should be returned on the till. The stock ID or EAN could also be manually typed into the search bar or a search could be performed using the product name.

Epos Enable Till
Determines whether the EPOS till is available for use. 

If disabled, no one can use till functionality.
Epos Enable Till Pass Code Login
Determines the EPOS Till login method.

If enabled, the user must enter their retail user code to login, otherwise a list of users is made available, and they simply select who to login as.
Epos Gift Voucher Stock ID
This is a Stock ID set up by the system to represent a Gift Voucher, and enables the till to generate gift vouchers. 

If this is set to 0, the till creates inactive Brand, Category, Model and Stock entries automatically on login (if required), and updates the Application Setting.
