Headers & Footers

You can find this section under Email Marketing > Headers & Footers in the IRP Admin left navigation menu.

You can create email headers and footers to customise the appearance of emails that you send to your customers.

You can create separate headers and footers for different languages. You can also create more than one header/footer profile. This allows for rotation based on season, for example you could use a different profile for Christmas.

HTML is used for the design of headers and footers. This allows for more advanced formatting and images.

EmailHeadersAndFooters.aspx page

The EmailHeadersAndFooters.aspx page appears as follows:

This shows the following details:

ID: This is the unique identifier for this header/footer, added automatically by the IRP.
Name: The configured name of the header/footer.
Email Uses: The number of times that the header/footer has been used in a Marketing Campaigns.
System Email Uses: The number of times that the header/footer has been used in a System Email.
Date Created: The date and time when the header/footer was created.
Last Updated By: The name of the Admin User who last updated the header/footer.
Preview: Check this box to preview what the header/footer looks like.
Edit: Click this button to edit a header/footer. For more details, see How To Add or Edit an Email Header and Footer .

How To Add or Edit an Email Header and Footer

To create an email header and footer, follow these steps:

Go to Email Marketing > Headers & Footers in the IRP Admin left navigation menu.
Click the Add New Email Header & Footer button.

Enter the details below:

Setting	Description
Email Header and Footer Details
Email Header Footer ID	This is the unique ID identifier for this email header and footer. This is added automatically when you create the header and footer.
Name	This is the name you want to give the email header and footer. This will be the identifier when you come to selecting it when creating an email.
Header HTML	This is the content that will be displayed on the header. As this is HTML- based, images and other HTML media can also be linked in. Note that you can include a link to allow customers to view their email online or to send the email to a friend – see How To View Emails Online or Email a Friend. (You could alternatively include the link in the body of the email instead of the Header.)
Footer HTML	This is the content that will be displayed on the header. As this is HTML-based, images and other HTML media can also be linked in.
Plain Text Content
Header Text	This is the plain text version of the email header that will be displayed in the event that the user’s email browser does not support HTML.
Footer Text	This is the plain text version of the email footer that will be displayed in the event that the user’s email browser does not support HTML.

After you have entered the information above, click the Insert Header & Footer button.
To see what the header and footer will look like in the email, click either the Preview button on the main EmailHeadersAndFooters.aspx page, or the Preview Header and Footer button on the editing page (EmailHeadersAndFootersEdit.aspx).
